I am an author and entrepreneur based in Lakeshore, Ontario, Canada. My first book Intimate Weddings: Planning a Small Wedding that Fits Your Budget and Style (Northlight Books, 2004) sold more than 10,000 copies, and was the catalyst for IntimateWeddings.com, a website that during its peak garnered 500,000 monthly visitors, and 217,000 followers through various social media channels.
 
In 2013, my daughters’ obsession with Rainbow Loom led me to create LoomLove.com, a website featuring Rainbow Loom video tutorials. LoomLove’s Youtube channel quickly exploded in popularity and its videos have garnered nearly 18 million views. Due to the website’s popularity, my daughters and I were offered a book contract by Quarry Books to write and provide photography for a Rainbow Loom themed how-to book with photos. Rubber Band Glam was published in 2015.
 
In 2018, my daughter and I created MyWeekendisBooked.com, a book-themed candle and gifting company. Our candles have been sold in 300+ stores throughout Canada, USA and Europe. We have worked with major corporate clients such as Shopify, Air Canada, IBM, Staples and Desjardin to create custom corporate gifts.
 
Along with my entrepreneurial ventures, I have written hundreds of articles, many of which have appeared in major publications such as The Globe and Mail, The Calgary Herald, The Ottawa Citizen, Montreal Gazette, Canadian Living, Today’s Parent and Canadian Homes and Cottages. I’ve also written and recorded documentaries for CBC radio and my work has been featured on CBC’s national programs Outfront and First-Person Singular.
 
I have been quoted in the New York Times, The New York Post, Cosmopolitan, NBC, Essence and many daily news publications across Canada and the US.
 
I am a former community newspaper editor (Harrow This Week and LaSalle Post) and a graduate from the University of Windsor (B.A. English Literature).
 
Photography is a natural extension to my love of storytelling. I began my journey as a photographer in 1997 while working as a reporter for a community newspaper. I continued to hone my skills in documentary style photography while working as a community newspaper editor, and later as a freelance journalist. In recent years, I was the lead photographer for DIY weddings on IntimateWeddings.com, lead photographer and videographer for LoomLove.com, lead photographer for Rubber Band Glam, as well as brand photographer for My Weekend is Booked.
